Today we worked on testing out other ROV's so that our team can get a feel for what our ROV should be able to do and what it should look like. I got a chance to play around with the ROV's, and I learned that they are a little bit harder to control then I thought. The ROV that Ms.S made ran a lot smoother then the others.
Next class we are going to work on finishing our design and start building our ROV.

Today I worked on ideas for the structure of the ROV and built possible prototypes out of the PVC. It was surprisingly more difficult then we thought to make the design work with the PVC that we have.
Next class we are going to continue to work on the design of our structure and hopefully start building.

TodaY I worked on drawing out the structure of the ROV from multiple different angles. We finalized the idea for the ROV, so next time we can focus on beginning to build the ROV and figuring out some of the smaller logistics. One challenge was getting the drawings to be accurate to our ideas.
The drawings of our ROV plan:

Today I worked on figuring out the sizing of our PVC and what we need to buy. We also bought all of the materials we need. Next time we are going to start building the structure so that we can add in the other parts.

Today I worked on the structure. We cut the PVC and put together the general frame of the ROV, but we are going to continue to cut down the size of it depending on how big the motors and other objects are. I think the challenge of that will be to get it all equal.

Today I worked on cutting down some of our structure so that all of our pieces fit better. I also started working on the control box with Annie and stayed during tutorial to get a good piece of that done. Tomorrow we have to test the structure to make sure that it works and add buoyancy. We also have to test our control box and make sure that works.

Today I worked on the control box with Annie, and I also drilled the holes into our ROV structure. Next time we have to test for buoyancy and add in the motors to make sure that we have a working ROV. The challenge of today was getting the switches off of the control board.
