1) Maneuvering
Goal: Maneuver through obstacles (hoops) Simulates ROV steering past large rocks underwater
Time limit: 3 min
Our plan: Minimize ROV size as much as possible.
High Priority
2) Coral Reef Restoration
Goal: Move an endangered coral species from one location to another
Simulates actual restoration of endangered species in ocean.
Time limit: 4 min
Our plan: Ensure that our claws are able to effectively grasp the coral reefs.
High Priority
3) Specimen Collection
Goal: Collect the Schworoctopuses from the benthic environment.
It will emulate collecting organisms at the bottom of the ocean, that can then be used for research and further discoveries.
Time: four minutes to collect the Schworoctopuses, and each Schworocotpus is worth two points.
The Schworoctopuses are about 24 centimeters, and are very light. The "body" is made from PVC.
Plan: Our team will have a claw that will attach to the bottom of the ROV, so that we can easily control where to grab the Schworoctopuses.

4) Oil Well Repair
Goal: plug the busted oil pipe from the oil rig. We have to place the oil well cap completely onto the oil pipe. It reenacts what would happen if an actual oil spill were to take place, and how ROV's can be used to help stop the flow of oil into the ocean.
Time: three minutes to complete the task, and will receive ten points if completed.
The oil cap is about 12 cm in diameter and matches the size of the oil rig.
Plan: use the claw to move the cap onto the oil pipe, and will also need to camera to see where the oil pipe is located in relation to our claw.
